You can now check out Joomla free in two easy steps

Joomla has come on in leaps and bounds since it's version 1.0 conception in when it was launched in 2005.  What at the time now looks like a cumbersome content management system, through the dedication of thousands of open source volunteers, it has now been downloaded over 93 million times.

It is now estimated to be the most used content management system, fast catching up with it's long time Wordpress rival.

Gone are the days where it was purely a tool for developers having to hard code templates.  Now users can install flexible templates which give them full control over the look, design and feel with the use of template frameworks like Helix Ultimate and with thousands of extensions both free and paid on the market.

Now you can see the back end for yourself by registering a free hosting account with Joomla.com in three easy steps:

  1. Go to www.joomla.com
  2. Enter your name and email address
  3. Wait for your email with your username and logins

The website is free as long as you want it but with the conditions that you log into your control panel one a month to keep it active and you will only get a sub domain name on the joomla.com domain name. Perfect for checking out the ease of use without having to go to the trouble of installing it on your own domain name.
